Article from Dr. Nasha
After a long week of work and with only a few ingredients left in the fridge and cupboard, a keto-friendly pizza is an easy and delicious fix that includes the Cali-Flour https://www.califlourfoods.com/ pizza crusts that we order online and keep frozen until needed.
Apply your favorite toppings—-we made two different versions—
A Red A Green
The red version was an organic Muir Glenn Pizza Sauce topping with organic shredded mozzarella, nitrate-free organic pepperoni, jalapeños and the green was pre-made local pesto with mozzarella, artichoke hearts, kalamata olives, chicken Italian sausage and pepperoncini’s.
Choose your favorite toppings and follow instructions on the Cal-Flour cauliflower crust.
We also made a homemade Caesar salad, with Steve’s famous dressing:
1/2 cup olive oil
Clove of garlic
1 TBS parmesan
1 TBS Worcestershire
1 TBS of Dijon mustard
1/2 tsp of sea salt
1 egg yolk
Juice of 1 lemon
6 basil leaves
6 anchovy fillets
Blended to a creamy texture and poured over chopped romaine and any other veggies of your choosing
***We make extra of everything so that we can have breakfast or lunch the next day***
Topped off with a 2-ounce glass each of Keto-friendly, polyphenol-rich wine from the Dry Farm Wines membership, one of our affiliates.
Not only is this a nice Friday night easy meal, but it is loaded with anticancer nutrients like the sulforaphanes found in the cauliflower, the essential fatty acids of the olive oil, olives, and anchovies to fight inflammation; the liver-friendly artichokes, carotenoids and vitamin C from the peppers, to name a few which helps for circulation and antioxidant protection. Comfort food, festive food, nutritious food—all low carb and delicious! Pizza night re-invented and about 30 minutes from start to finish.
