We continue to hear the outdated argument that the cancer rates of today are simply due to our living longer and makes the assumption this is a disease of the aging population.
We are here to tell you, along with many of my colleagues, that is simply not the case anymore. In the last 6 months we have consulted with 3 little girls under the age of 10 with OVCA, one girl, 11 years old with breast cancer, numerous brain cancers, 16 year old with CRC, too many sarcomas to count, and the list goes on.
The fastest growing colorectal cancer population is under the age of 30 and GBM brain tumors, under the age of 24. Pediatric cancers are on the rise. We hear folks say—“you can’t blame their diet as they are so young”—what? Really? Even though we have data supporting that what your FATHER ate prior to your very conception will impact your health and what your mother ate during pregnancy as well?
But complicating matters, if you were born after 1980 you likely grew up with a BPA drenched bottle in your mouth along with BPA diapers, toys, food containers, water bottles….the list goes on. We are swimming in it today. This article offers some ways to lower your exposure.
